How to order at Starbucks?
We often think that the order in which we ask our barista to make us our favourite Starbucks drink does not matter, all that is important is just to get our drink, however, has this thought ever crossed your mind on how to order in the correct manner?
I was also the type of person who never used the correct manner, always used to come up with some different combination; either I used to say the name of my drink first, size and then whether if I prefer it hot or cold, or I used to say what size, the number of shots, syrup and type of milk. I even once confused my barista and was not able to correctly mention it to her how I actually wanted my drink to be like. Curious about how to order like a professional? Trust me, the barista would be very happy to know that you used the correct order and avoided any potential confusion.
Here’s how you should order:
- The first thing you should mention is whether you want your coffee to be hot or iced.
- The size of the drink. Starbucks gives you the following options — Short, Tall, Grande, Venti, Trenta.
- Mention whether you would want your coffee to be decaffeinated or not?
- Mention your number of Shots.
- If you would like any syrup to be added or not?
- The type of milk you prefer.
- Any extra additions.
- Last and final the name of the drink!
Let’s take an example — if you want a hot caramel macchiato then you would request your barista as follows, “I would like a hot, grande, three shot espresso, 2 pumps of vanilla syrup, almond milk, caramel macchiato please”.
If you want a mocha frappe, “Hi, can I get an iced, venti, whole milk, 3 pump mocha shot, regular whipped cream and regular cookie topping, mocha cookie crumble frapp?”
